The Wing Pro Compact gives you a nice flat surface behind the hoods, while allowing the bottoms of the drops to remain horizontal. FSA Wing Pro Compact Handlebars (White) Product ID: WNGPROC-WH FSA Wing Pro Compact Handlebars (White) The 'compact handlebar' revolution was effectively started with the introduction of FSA's 'Wing Pro' design several years ago. I used Shimano 10 speed DA levers on mine, and the fact that they are pretty long too made the bars feel even longer, the curve of the bar is very tight, it does however make a very straight transition from bar top to lever. FSA K-WING AGX Carbon 31.8 Gravel Adventure Bike Drop Handlebar : BLACK. One option may be to tape the bars all the way along, over the top of the wings, but you need some mucho long bar tape to do that, and IMO its too bulky. FSA championed the concept of the wing-style handlebar years ago. The FSA Energy Compact takes the shallow drop that has become popular and mated it to a flattened bar top to provide additional hand positioning options. These bars do not have it, only a small hollow in the underside, this means that where the tape stops, just before the wing shape starts the cables come out and in my case drove me crazy, its irritating and they always feel in the way when you ride on the tops. Handlebars have run the gamut of shapes from ergo, to round to a composite of the two. Many of the wing top bars have a cable routing tube, either in the handle bar or running along the underneath of the wing top, this guides the cables to the point where they would exit under the bar tape on a normal round bar. ![]()
